Beach Baby

For me, a girl born and raised in the Gulf Coast region of this country, a summer is just NOT complete without at least one visit to the beach. This year we went for an extended weekend...

An explosion on one of the off shore drilling rigs caused an enormous oil spill into the Gulf. Many folks changed their beach plans for the summer. Many beaches had balls of tar wash ashore. We were fortunate at Panama City that we had no oil! The environmental engineers were watching the area carefully but in the end, it was an oil free summer...we did however have to endure the other beach nightmare...SEAWEED! Oh well, we made the most of it and had a great time with our family.

The seagrass is finally getting back to it's normal look. With the recent hurricanes and tropical storms, the seagrass had been pretty pitiful...

I think Ava may be very much like her momma... She seems to love to play in the sand and water but I don't think she's very happy to be *dirty*. We made several trips back and forth to the water to fill up the buckets so she could wash her hands.

THIS IS THE LIFE!
...Now I'm sure she's like her momma...catching some rays right on the water's edge.
