Where has the time gone??!

Today while I was washing bottles in the kitchen, I noticed that Ava was sitting on her feet like a catcher! After she wakes up from her naps, she sits in her crib and jabbers away (imagine that...my daughter a talker!). Today I was watching her from the hall - when she saw me she stood up in the crib. I actually watched her pull herself up on the railing!! I am definitely enjoying each moment - they pass way too quickly. Although, I must say that each new day is spectacular...I miss the baby she was yesterday but love the baby she has become today.

We are making a trip down to see Grandma and Grandpa Carroll for Labor Day. We are looking forward to seeing Aunts and Uncles and cousins again. She is at a very pleasant age right now. I hope she is a good traveler. She always has been so lets hope that tradition continues. I hope that ya'll have a fun and safe Labor Day holiday.

The things I've found!

In Ava's new world on the floor she has found lots of new and exciting things to interest her. Crawling has opened my eyes to revelations about my housekeeping skills. While I claim no perfection, Ava's new territory has shown me just how few hours it takes for my kitchen floor to collect dust bunnies and dog hair! She follows me around the house and stops to plunder through Lily's toy basket...Lily isn't so sure about that :)
She has recently found the air vents in the floor,
she tries to pull them out! Wow-she really thinks
she can do anything!

On Sunday morning, she followed Lily to Lily's food bowl...she just sat there and watched. It was so precious to watch her study Lily's actions.
Just this morning she found her dirty clothes basket in the living room. She tried to pull herself up on it and it tipped over on her. She immediately took advantage to pull all the clothes out. I couldn't resist a quick picture!

Growing, Growing, Growing

The "after" picture! Happy baby with full belly! BUT-we're lucky, she's always pretty happy.
Daddy does dinner duty! Looks like a clean plate... Ava loves green beans especially but eats carrots, squash, peas, and sweet potatoes without grimacing. She takes the spoon and pulls it toward her mouth and then squeals for more.

True love

Could this be Ava's first boyfriend?? Matt and Ava were having some sweet time on the couch. We are so blessed to have such great friends as neighbors!!

Crawling

Thought you might like to see Ava crawling around :)

Any 4 will do

Ava has learned to crawl, however she seems to have missed the memo that the hands and knees come first! Here she is doing her signature move. She can crawl on her hands and knees but she seems to get by just as well this way.

My Teeth

Looks like my Christmas came early, except I got my bottom front teeth! Here is a shot of my 2 front (bottom) teeth...I am working on a fabulous smile!

Look! No hands.

It's as if she can't wait to grow up! I guess she will be my little miss independent. That's good, right? She will be following me around the house soon enough!

SQUASH!!

Well, it's Ava's first vegetable...butternut squash. She didn't mind it so much. Only a quick little "what's this?" face and then she munched like normal. We had our 6 month check up this morning. She has made up for her light weight debut in the 10th percentile, she has gained ground...now weighing 16 pounds 10 ounces (80th percentile) and she is 27 inches long. She is quite a good size 6 month old. Her doctor, "Uncle Joel" (as we lovingly dubbed him), is impressed at her good health and mobility.

Especially for Uncle John

While Ava was at our neighbors...and friends...last night, she had a wardrobe malfunction. Linda put her in one of Matt's old onesies. Uncle John - its MONKEYS!!! Look how well she sits up now. My sweet little baby is almost 6 months old! I caught her just as she started making rasberries with her mouth :)
