Bein' Silly

Being a silly girl in Momma's shoes! I was impressed...she could walk quite well. I loved listening to her giggle while she strutted around the kitchen. I think she was quite impressed with herself as well!

Peach Pickin'

It's time for peach picking...Ava figured it out and loved it!









At first she wasn't sure what to think. She very quickly learned that she DID NOT like the skin...then she thought the texture was a little funny. She tried to give her bite back. She kept wanting more though so she eventually took enough bites that she decided peaches aren't so bad after all~







She even tried to pick her own...she had to pull really hard. Putting them in the basket was the most fun. She threw them in there like a baseball. She was so quick that I really couldn't get an action shot...you'll just have to trust me that she is throwing a peach in the basket.

All Stars in St. Louis

Since the All Star Baseball game was held here this year, they had the fan fest... We went and got to see all things baseball. Here are a few pictures!

Happy Birthday to my Daddy!!!

Today is my Daddy's birthday...he is a special Daddy, he plays with me, bathes me, sings me songs, and gives me lots of hugs. I am so thankful to have a great Daddy!

We went to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa at the Drunken Fish. Daddy loves sushi...



Ava is starting to get the hang of looking at the camera and smiling. We are working on perfecting this process.


Dave tries his skills at chopsticks...Ava makes a sweet effort as well...


Grandma helping Ava get a sip of water...Ava drank at least a full glass! She loved acting like a "big girl".


A free ride- Notice her headband is now around her neck. She was looking at Grandma's necklace all night and she finally figured out how to get one of her own. Next morning she cried and pointed at it until we gave it to her...she wore it around until nap time...

What a busy evening...she fell asleep in the car and then barely woke up to get her jammies on. What a trooper! Happy Birthday Daddy!

Ava loves water...and finds it everywhere!

We spent a recent day downtown at the CityGarden. It is a really cool space with fountains for kids to play in...they even have a chime that you can play by walking on it~ We had a blast. Not totally prepared to play in the water so we just stripped her down to her diaper and let her have fun!

Our day at Hawn State Park

We spent our Sunday afternoon at a local state park. We have had the most pleasant weather for the past week. It is the middle of July and ya'll...Our high today was 80! We have had our windows up and a/c off for 4 days now!! We have spent so much time outside lately...made lots of memories and tons of pictures.

Today we had a little picnic lunch, played in a creek, played on the playground, and took a little "hike". The trail got the better of me and Ava. It's hard to hike when the trail basically disappears and Ava wants to climb on all the rocks and trees... Maybe next summer she'll be ready! Ava and I were both asleep shortly after we settled in the car for the ride home.

Ava LOVES Cheese puffs. Her fingers, hands, face, and hair were orange after this highly nutrious lunch!



We took a little walk around the park and found this nice creek. She found this rock and decided to take a short break. The water was gorgeous but quite chilly! The rocks made it such a pretty little scene...



"Look! I found a really cool rock!!!"



Isn't this so cute...she's waving "bye-bye" to the water. We were getting ready to walk some more so we told her to tell the water bye...she takes that very literally ;)



On to the swings...she loves to swing! I think she wants to go higher.

What Ava does while Daddy grills...

She LOVES the water. I can't really keep her out of it. Tonight when Dave went out to grill our chicken, Ava went out and made a bee line for the pool!! She stepped right in - clothes and all. We adjusted, we just pulled off her dress and let her swim in her bloomers and diapers!

The Ice Cream Shop

We took Ava to an ice cream shop...it was technically her second taste of ice cream but the first one we got on film. Notice I was brave enough to let her feed herself - glad someone else had to clean up the floor :)







She wants to make sure she gets every last bite...yum!!!!

Ava can now say about 15 words...clearly and meaningfully. She knows 7 body parts and points to them on herself and others! Who is this amazing creature???
