Playing with Lily

Ava loves to get Lily's toys and take them to her. She "throws" them by dropping them right in front of the dog who turns around and looks at me as if to say "hello, doesn't she know I like to run after it myself?" Lily doesn't quite yet understand that Ava wants to play but I see that they are well on their way to being the best of friends...of course Lily may think otherwise if Ava keeps taking her bed...

Playing outside-

Playing on the porch in the rocking chair...she has mastered climbing in and out. She loves to ride and push her horsey. Then we came inside and had spaghetti for lunch! Yummo!!!

We are really practicing leaving the hair bow alone, she is really starting to need it now! That hair is getting pretty long...

That which comforts us...

Every night at bedtime we have a ritual...we get a bath, say our prayers, and lay down with our "dolly" and paci. Tonight before bath time, Ava found all her paci's and "dollies" and brought them to me one by one so I graciously took them and absentmindedly tossed them in her crib. When I put her to bed it didn't dawn on me that she had more than one comfort item...so this is what I found at when I went to check on her. It seems that she didn't mind the extra comfort tonight...usually she throws them out one at a time until there is nothing left - then she calls for me! And yes, I had to be sneaky...and YES!!! I did get caught tonight :(. Thankfully she just lifted her head and cried out one time as I crept backwards out of the room... Sleep well my sweet Ava!!

First Words

Ava has been testing out her sounds... She has a three word vocabulary. She consistently calls "momma". She babbles "dada" a lot and says it most often when we ask her to say something else :) And she says "Uh-Oh", well more like a REALLY twangy, southern "O"... wonder wherever she might get that accent from??? hehehe... She humors us and does really well to say what we ask her to, that will probably change very soon! Hugs to all!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Ava found the leprechaun at Grandma and Grandpa's house... It was just her size. She loved the beads...she knew exactly what to do with them - put them on then yank them off so hard that the strand would break :( Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

More park fun

Ava investigating the play equipment at the park... She was fascinated by the little pebbles...and amazingly she didn't put a single one in her mouth :-)

Keeping busy

This is what I find Ava doing most mornings while I am getting ready for work. She loves to try and untie the laces on Daddy's tennis shoes...

Just a Swingin'

One of my favorite things about living here is 4 REAL seasons! It's so great in the spring when the weather warms up to get reacquainted with neighbors. Ava and I spent one Friday afternoon at the park with friends...Ava loved to swing. Soon, we'll get hers up and she can swing whenever she wants!

We had a very busy day today and Ava pretty much refused to rest or nap. I know that she must be a very tired girl. We had an early bath...ate spaghetti...and then off to bed early. Mom and Dad are hoping that an earlier bed time will compensate for the "spring forward" time change and keep her on somewhat of a schedule!

I went in to check on Ava as I always do before I head downstairs for the night...this is what I found!! WOW!! Must be comfy. I knew that she liked to lay like this and "talk" during naps but I had never seen her sleeping in this position. It was worth the risk that the flash might wake her up to get this precious pose. I'm just glad she's sleeping well. We all have coughs, runny noses, and sore throats...yuck.

Basket full of Ava?

Ava found something new to climb in today...her toy basket!!

Fun in the tub

More bath time fun...G rated of course...I don't want any pictures that Ava will be upset about one day, although this will probably do it ;-) Isn't she cute splashing around in the tub. I am practicing with my new camera...lots of fun!!

Jungle Gym??

I don't think so...but this is one of Ava favorite things to do. She is a climber. She climbs on this cart, the baby doll stroller and in the laundry basket.

Feeding myself

Meal time is a fun time...especially when Daddy is home. He loves to play ~ even if it's not play time. BUT...he sure can make you laugh for me to catch a great picture. I love my new camera. I can catch those smiles before you look away!

Momma's new camera

A few fun pictures from Momma playing with her new camera...it is so fun when you have such a beautiful subject :-) Ava is getting better at posing and with a faster shutter speed, I can catch all those sweet smiles BEFORE she turns her head away.
